PD Dr. Marco Bonani studied medicine at the University of Zürich. After graduating, he received his training in internal medicine and nephrology at the Spital Zollikerberg, the Kantonsspital St. Gallen and the Universitätsspital Zürich (USZ), were he acts as attending physician in nephrology since 2013. Since 2017, he serves as head of dialysis at the USZ (incl. Circle). His main areas of interest in clinical nephrology are chronic kidney disease, its associated mineral and bone disorders, and renal replacement therapy. Education and training of medical students and junior doctors is an additional focus. Marco Bonani is active in clinical trials and conducts retrospective analyses on bone disease in chronic kidney disease and after transplantation.
